Frederick Acheampong, former sports journalist who is now an esteemed member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Black Meteors Management Committee, has emerged victorious in the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries for Ahafo Ano South East.
Known affectionately as Fred Achee, he secured an impressive 164 votes, earning him the opportunity to represent the NPP in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
Defeating four other candidates, including John Wesley Owusu Boateng with 82 votes, Emmanuel Osei-Boateng with 76 votes, Obeng Boateng with 88 votes, and Roy Gyeabour Antwi with 29 votes, Fred Achee’s triumph is a testament to his exceptional leadership and dedication.
Beyond his contributions to football administration, Fred Achee holds esteemed positions in various sports-related committees and organizations. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Division One League Super Cup Organizing Committee and holds the esteemed position of Treasurer at the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC). His extensive involvement in sports administration extends to his role as the Chef de Mission for the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham.
Before embarking on his successful career in sports administration, Fred Achee made a name for himself as a distinguished sports journalist with Kessben FM in the Ashanti Region. His wealth of experience and expertise in the field have undoubtedly contributed to his remarkable achievements in the realm of sports administration.
