The Electoral Commission (EC) and the National Election Security Task Force have collaborated to ensure a secure and peaceful re-collation process for outstanding constituencies.
Following a meeting at the National Police Headquarters in Accra on December 19, 2024, the EC and the National Election Security TaskForce reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the electoral process.
To achieve this, the EC has requested the task force to provide necessary security measures for the re-collation exercise. The task force has assured its readiness to deploy joint police and military personnel to ensure the safety of accredited individuals and EC staff.
At a press conference, ACP Grace Ansah Akrofi director of Public Affairs Ghana Police service emphasized that only accredited individuals will be allowed access to coalition centers, while non-accredited persons will be denied entry.
The National Election Security TaskForce is therefore urging the political parties to refrain from inciting supporters to disrupt the process.
NESTF has assured the public that it prioritizes Ghana’s peace and security throughout the election period, including the post-election phase. The EC and the task force invite all stakeholders to collaborate in maintaining a peaceful electoral environment.
