Ghanaian actor-turned-politician John Dumelo has promised to address the accommodation issues facing students of the University of Ghana, Legon, in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
During an open discussion at the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on Community Manifesto, headlined by TV3, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate highlighted some issues students in the constituency face.
John Dumelo criticized his opponent, Lydia Alhassan, for turning a blind eye to the pertinent issues faced by the students at the University of Ghana, Legon.
He further mentioned the exorbitant fees being paid by students, saying that when he assumes power, he will address this issue as well, following the manifesto of the NDC.
“The first thing we are going to do is to address the accommodation issue of the students. It’s very dear to my heart. I don’t think ever since she (Lydia Alhassan) assumed office she has been able to construct one hostel for the students in the university.”
“The most important thing for us is to construct the hostels for students across Ayawaso West Wuogon. Remember that every policy of the NDC is progressive, not instant, because we want quality, not quantity,” he stated.
