Some users of social media have weighed in on John Dumelo’s declaration of a “second coming” in his bid to become MP for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
Despite rumours that he was eyeing a parliamentary seat in the Volta Region, the actor and farmer will run for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat for the 2nd attempt.
Making the statement on his Twitter page, he wrote: “After extensive consultation with my God, my family and our party faithful in Ayawaso West Wuogon! This’s the second coming.
#Still IDey4you.”
Mr Dumelo ran for the constituency seat on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket in the 2020 polls, but was defeated by the New Patriotic Party’s Lydia Seyram Alhassan in the general election.
Already this year, the actor and business mogul Fred Nuamah has made it official to run in the parliamentary primary in the same constituency.
Abdullai Abu Sadiq, a music and media entrepreneur, is another creative arts person who will run in the NDC’s parliamentary primaries (Baba Sadiq).
He will be running for the position at the Okaikoi Central Constituency.
The NDC has announced May 13, 2023, for both presidential and parliamentary primaries.
