Ace Ghanaian actor cum comedian, Akwasi Baodi Akrobeto, has revealed that he has lived in Accra for 43 stable years and all this while, he has never paid rent.
According to Akrobeto, when he left his village in the Ashanti Region to settle in Accra in 1979, he, fortunately, met Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo who sheltered him for close to two decades.
When he decided to leave Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s house to rent a new place because he had come of age, his new landlord also refused to rent out his house to him after he got to know that he was the one who wanted to rent his house.
Speaking in an interview on Precise FM, he said;
“I didn’t have anything of my own. My family was very poor. When I completed Form 4 in the year 1979, Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo sent someone to come for me from my village to stay with him in Accra.”
“And I stayed with him for a very long time without paying a dime because of my humility and honesty. Even in times when I moved out, anytime, I pay rent, strangely, the landlords either return my money or refuse to accept it,”
Akrobeto remains one of the most respected actors and comedians in Ghana at the moment.
With a career spanning over 3 decades and casting in over 200 movies. He’s close to attaining legendary status very soon.
