Renowned Ghanaian musician Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, popularly known as Mr Drew, has refuted claims that Ghanaian songs are only recognized within the country.
His response comes after UK-based Ghanaian media personality George Britton recently stated that music from Ghanaian artists struggles to gain traction in neighboring countries.
However, the multiple award-winning singer argued that Ghanaian musicians are putting in their best efforts, dismissing the notion that their songs don’t even reach countries like Togo.
“I don’t think that’s true that our songs don’t even cross to Togo or Ivory Coast but I think that we are trying our best,” he responded in an interview.
“Rome wasn’t built in one day so we are not going to have everything happening in one day so it’s bits by bits everything will be okay.
“So we the Ghanaian artists are trying our best but as to whether Ghanaian songs are just in Ghana I don’t agree,” he revealed as MyNewsGh.com listened.
