Francis Addo, a member of the communications team for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed deep disappointment in George Opare Addo, who also serves as the National Youth Organizer for the NDC.
In a statement released by the National Youth Organizer, he made it clear that his organization strongly opposes the recent implementation of a 10 per cent tax on sports betting, and they plan to organize a demonstration against this directive.
During a panel discussion on the Oyerepa Breakfast show with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on Wednesday morning, Francis Addo, the communications team member, reiterated his disagreement with his party’s decision to oppose the ban and tax on sports betting. He emphasized that he cannot support such a stance.
“I will not sit here be blindfolded with party colours and support what is detrimental to the development of our country” he stated.
He further explained that encouraging betting among Ghanaian youth poses a serious danger.
“I don’t know where this will take me and I don’t mind losing my position as a communicator in my party ….I don’t support our party’s position on this issue” he boldly added.
