Ghanaian Hip-Life artist and songwriter, Donzy Chaka, has set the record straight after a video shared by fellow musician Kofi Kinaata went viral on social media, showing him eating “Gobe” — the popular Ghanaian delicacy made from gari and beans.
Reacting to the video during an interview on Oyerepa Entertainment Review with Francisca Intsiful, Donzy debunked claims that he was enjoying the meal, insisting the footage was manipulated.
“I don’t eat gari and beans (Gobe). I’ve never eaten that food before, so if you see my video circulating online, eating gobe, it means it’s Ai, someone has tampered with the video.
According to him, he was born into a rich family (Daddy Bee) and therefore will never waste his time on such food.
“I was born into a rich home; therefore, as a Daddy Bee, I don’t eat gobe,” he said.
