In a recent interview on Agyenkwa FM in Kumasi, renowned actress Mercy Asiedu made it clear that she has no intention of campaigning for any political party, including the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
When asked if she would consider supporting the NPP’s campaign, Asiedu cited her busy schedule as a reason for declining.
Asiedu emphasized that her priority lies in advocating for the growth and development of the creative arts sector, which she believes has been neglected by politicians.
She expressed concern for future generations and the need to create job opportunities for the youth through a thriving creative industry.
With Ghana’s elections approaching, Asiedu urged authorities to prioritize the creative arts sector and not overlook its potential for economic growth and job creation.
