An aspiring Ashanti regional deputy general secretary of the opposition NDC, Matthew Kojo Njourkone, has pledged to win more seats for the party in the 2024 elections.
The main opposition party will hold its delegate conference on November 12, 2022, to elect its constituency and regional executives.
The NDC struggles to win many seats in the Ashanti region, which is the stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). In the 2020 elections, the NDC won 4 out of the 47 parliamentary seats in the Ashanti region.
Speaking with Kwesi Parker-Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Matthew Njokone said, they will win more seats for his party but refused to reveal his strategies.
“I will do a lot for the party to win more seats.” I can’t make the information public. The NDC is now attractive in the region. “Previously, when you wore an NDC shirt, people would mock you, but now it’s not like that.” He said.
