Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, a presidential aspirant hopeful, has pledged to give his full support to whoever the delegates elect as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer. However, he emphasised that he is confident of winning the presidential primaries.
Speaking at the launch of his campaign office in Accra, he declared his intention to contest the presidential election, stating, “I want to stand here and also make that firm commitment that whoever the delegates elect, I will give my full support to that person.” He added that he will work hard to convince the 300,000 delegates to vote for him.
Agyapong expressed his optimism about winning the primaries, saying, “I’m very hopeful that I’m going to be able to convince the delegates to vote my way.” He also addressed concerns about supporters who lose elections, noting that they have to support the party’s chosen candidate.
“I think all of us supported Dr. Bawumia. It doesn’t mean that our political careers have come to an end,” he said. “This is a new electoral cycle, and by the grace of God, I’m the first person to declare my intention to run.”
