I’ll not disappoint – Kennedy Agyapong to NPP Delegates
Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential aspirant and former Assin Central Member of Parliament, has called on delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to grant him the mandate to lead the party as its flagbearer for the 2028 general election.
In a televised address to national delegates on Thursday, January 29, 2026, Mr Agyapong said his leadership would focus on unity, internal democracy, industrialisation, and job creation.
“I do not believe in revenge politics, and I will not tolerate any attempt to shrink the party by threatening its grassroots. Be assured of this,” he said.
He stressed that the strength of the NPP lies in its democratic traditions, urging delegates to uphold and defend those values.
“The NPP was built on courage and internal democracy. So, I say to you, stand firm,” Mr Agyapong added.
Outlining his vision for Ghana, he emphasised that industrialisation and employment would be central to his administration if elected as the party’s flagbearer.
“I stand for industrialisation, and that’s my message. I am also committed to creating jobs for our youth. Give me the opportunity to serve you, and I will not disappoint you,” he said.
The NPP flagbearer election is scheduled to take place nationwide on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Party leadership, in collaboration with the Electoral Commission, has assured that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a free, fair, and credible electoral process.
