“I’ll never tell a man how much I earn” — Nancy Isime

Popular Nollywood actress and television host Nancy Isime has stirred conversation on social media after revealing that she has no intention of sharing details of her income with a romantic partner, regardless of how serious the relationship may be.

The actress made the disclosure during an appearance on the ‘Thanks For Coming’ podcast, where she spoke candidly about personal boundaries, privacy and her views on relationships.

According to Nancy Isime, maintaining a level of independence is important to her, especially when it comes to finances. She explained that while many couples are comfortable discussing earnings and financial status, she prefers to keep such matters private and expects the same from her partner.

“Tell a man how much I earn, for what? I can never. And I don’t want him to discuss his earnings with me either. I don’t want to know how much he is earning,” she said.

The actress added that she sees no need for couples to constantly monitor each other’s private affairs. While she does not object to openness in relationships, she believes certain personal matters should remain individual choices rather than obligations.

“I’ve no problem with him going through my phone, but for what? I would never ask to check his phone,” she stated.

Nancy Isime, who has built a successful career in acting, television presenting and entrepreneurship, also revealed that her personal ambitions have always been centred on career growth and self-sufficiency rather than marriage.

Reflecting on her younger years, she said she never spent time fantasising about weddings or married life as many people do.

“You know, when young girls sit down and daydream about getting married, I have never done that. All I daydream about is working, making money, and being independent,” she said.

Her remarks have generated mixed reactions online, with some praising her emphasis on personal independence and boundaries, while others argue that financial transparency remains an important part of building trust in long-term relationships.
