Unlike Muslims, Christianity sees polygyny as a sin.
Some people within the Christian community also believe it is good to practice polygyny, but due to the regulations, they cannot. Others also say it’s because of financial problems that it’s why they avoid practising polygyny.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Sheikh Abdul-Muhsin Baafi, Director of Leading-Edge Academy, advised Ghanaian men who are capable of and have the wisdom for polygyny to do it.
“I will plead with my fellows who have the capacity and the wisdom to marry more than one to do it. If you marry another wife, you will come and testify to the benefit of it,” he said.
According to the Sheik, there are many women who are looking for husbands.
“You have female siblings who are looking for a husband, so please marry them if you can.” He pleaded.
