Kojo Bonsu, former Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has declared the inspiration behind his quest to contest for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearership.
Note that, the NDC will be holding its national Congress on December 17, 2022.
Many believe the NDC flagbereaship race is clearly between former President Mahama and Dr Kwabena Duufour.
However, the former KMA boss (Kojo Bonsu) believes that he has what it takes to lead the party to glory.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, hosted by Kwesi Parker-Wilson, Thursday, 29th September 2022, Kojo Bonsu stated that, he would contest for the NDC flagbearship.
According to him, once he was able to serve as the mayor of KMA, he has the strength to become the president of Ghana.
Using Kumasi as a case study, Kojo Bonsu stated that, the Ashanti Regional capital is a sampling size of Ghana and that once he was able to manage the city properly; he has the ability to be the country’s president.
“Kumasi is a sampling size of Ghana. In the world most mayors have gone into presidency, it is because of the way they serve the people and the way they handle people.
Even though Kumasi is a smaller scale, it’s in the nerve-racking of Ghana, it’s in the middle of Ghana and if you’re able to run Kumasi, I believe you have the strength to be able to handle Ghana.” He emphatically stated.
Kojo Bonsu however called on NDC delegates to vote for him to lead the party.
