“If I’m living with a side chick at Trassaco, may God strike me” — Obinim

Founder of the International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, has strongly dismissed claims that the house he recently acquired at Trassaco was purchased to accommodate another woman.

Addressing members of his church, the controversial preacher described the allegations as false and malicious, insisting that the narrative circulating on social media was deliberately created to damage his reputation amid the ongoing public scrutiny of his marriage to gospel singer Florence Obinim.

To reinforce his denial, Obinim said he had placed himself under a solemn oath before God, declaring that he should suffer severe consequences if the allegations were ever proven to be true.

“There is a rumour that I’ve bought a mansion in Trassaco and am living there with a side chick. I told George that if the rumour is true, then the day it rains, or even if the scorching sun touches my body, God should make me seriously ill and bedridden, to the point where I can never attend church again until the day I die,” he said.

He also argued that such claims do not reflect his character, adding that he would never purchase a property only to secretly share it with another woman. He therefore appealed to his followers to ignore the rumours whenever they encounter them.

The response comes after Obinim recently disclosed that he had moved out of his matrimonial home and purchased a residence at Trassaco, reportedly worth about $400,000. At the time, he explained that he wanted to spend some time living alone while navigating challenges in his marriage, stressing that his decision should not be interpreted as a sign that he intended to divorce his wife.

His latest remarks appear aimed at putting to rest speculation surrounding the property, as conversations about his marriage and personal life continue to dominate social media.
