A member of the Communications team in the Ashanti Region for the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, Victor Osei Poku has indicated that, if he was the president Akufo-Addo, he would have sacked the Ashanti regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah for not being on top of issues.
A group which identifies itself as Grassroots of the elephant party led by Mr Osei Poku, the elephant party seems to be failing in the Ashanti Region which is the party’s stronghold. The group have said, the Regional Minister should be blamed for that.
Speaking in a round table discussion on Oyerepa Breakfast show in reaction to the group’s call on Nana Akufo-Addo to make some changes in his cabinet ministers, Victor Osei Poku indicated that, the party is gaining a negative tag in the region under the watch of Simon Osei Mensah.
According to him, the minister is not on top of issues in the region.
He said if Simon Osei Mensah was on top of issues, what happened at Suame where the Member of Parliament for the area, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu was booed by the artisans wouldn’t have happened.
“You remember what happened at Suame Constituency and series of demonstrations in other constituencies, if the regional minister had his ears on the grounds, all these wouldn’t have happened. This is the stronghold of the party and he should have been proactive enough to know some of these things.
If I were president Akufo-Addo, I would have sacked Simon Osei Mensah long ago.“ Victor Osei stated.
