Ibrahim Mahama donates GH¢200,000 to Beverly Afaglo’s family
Businessman Ibrahim Mahama has offered financial support to the family of late Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo Baah, donating GH¢200,000 towards her funeral expenses.
The gesture was announced during the final funeral rites of the actress at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as mourners gathered to honour her memory.
The announcement drew applause from the crowd after the master of ceremonies revealed the businessman’s contribution.
“Mr Ibrahim Mahama has donated 2 billion old cedis, GH¢200,000 to the family. Put your hands together in appreciation to him,” the announcer said.
Ibrahim Mahama, who was present at the ceremony, joins a number of individuals and organisations supporting the bereaved family as colleagues and loved ones celebrate the life of the actress.
Beverly Afaglo, who was married to Ghanaian musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, died on May 24, 2026, at age 42 after battling cancer. Her death brought an outpouring of grief from Ghana’s entertainment community, where she had built a career spanning more than two decades.
She left behind her husband and two children.
The GH¢200,000 donation from Ibrahim Mahama has provided significant support for the family at a difficult time and underscored the solidarity surrounding Beverly Afaglo’s final farewell.
