Multiple award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has revealed an interesting backstory behind one of his fan-favourite songs, Goodbye. According to the celebrated rapper, he wrote the lyrics to Goodbye in his mother’s kitchen in Tema. The nostalgic revelation was made in a tweet on Monday, June 23, 2025, in response to a fan’s post featuring the song playing in the background.The track Goodbye, which features Mugeez of R2Bees, is a standout single from Sarkodie’s 2012 Rapperholic album. The song was produced by renowned beatmaker Kill Beatz and has remained one of Sarkodie’s most cherished releases.
“Wrote this particular song in my mums kitchen (Tema),” Sarkodie tweeted in response to a video of a lady jamming to infectious rythms and lyrics of the 2019 song.
‘Goodbye’ blends Sarkodie’s rap verses with Mugeez’s smooth vocals, creating an emotional narrative about love, regret, and parting ways.
