Ghanaian media personality and comedian, Afia Schwarzenegger has stated that she will only work as a radio presenter for a salary of at least GH₵600,000.
During an interview with Zion Felix on YouTube, the Afia, who is currently on vacation in Europe, said: “I won’t do radio for less than 600,000 Ghana cedis, which is the equivalent of 6 billion old cedis, without bragging”.
According to her, the sum is what she earned as a two-year salary when she worked for Kasapa FM, a radio station based in Accra.
She said that she wouldn’t accept anything less than that amount for two years of work and that she received that money five years ago.
Afia Schwarzenegger also claimed that she was the undisputed queen of mid-morning radio in Ghana, adding that if she were to accept another radio job, she would demand even more money.
“I will not take anything less than 1 billion now if I have to do radio again. At Kasapa, I demonstrated that I was the queen of mid-morning radio in Ghana. I could play the show and leave to go to town to see people who were listening to us. I am not boasting; my manager is Ben Duker, give it a try,” she said.
Despite having been off the airwaves for some time, Afia Schwarzenegger claims to be in high demand.
She claimed that the owners of Accra FM were eager to sign her up, but she had rebuffed their offers.
