“I wish Maxin would be like DJ Switch” – McBrown
Ghanaian actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has heaped praise on young Ghanaian disc jockey Erica Tandoh, popularly known as DJ Switch, describing her as an inspiring example of how young talent can maximise opportunities.
McBrown said she has followed DJ Switch’s development with admiration since the youngster gained national attention after winning TV3’s ‘Talented Kids’ competition.
“I wish I were related to DJ Switch because I’m proud of her. I just feel like she’s made good use of her time and she has made it work for her,” McBrown said in an interview.
The actress praised DJ Switch for pursuing her abilities from an early age instead of allowing her talent to go to waste.
“From that tender age, she fought for something that’s within. She went to the Talented Kids and she won. She’s never been lazy on herself,” she stated.
According to McBrown, DJ Switch’s international travels have also contributed significantly to her confidence and ability to express herself.
“She had the opportunity to travel and that has increased her confidence. The way she speaks, her accent is so lovely and I’m so proud of her,” she said.
McBrown, who is a mother to Maxine Mawusi Mensah, popularly known as Maxin, said she hopes her daughter will develop a similar level of confidence and communication ability as she grows.
“I so wish that Maxin will be like that. I can even picture her on CNN, her confidence, and her delivery. I love her so much and she should keep it up,” she added.
DJ Switch rose to prominence after winning the 2017 edition of TV3’s ‘Talented Kids’ at a young age and has since gained international exposure through her performances and engagements.
McBrown’s remarks highlight the growing recognition of DJ Switch’s journey and the expectations surrounding young Ghanaian talents who gain prominence early in life.
