Veteran Ghanaian actor, comedian, and prominent figure in the Kumawood movie industry, Mr. Beautiful, whose real name is Clement Bonney, has publicly declared that he can never fully forgive anyone who offends him. According to him, even if he chooses to forgive, he will never forget the person or what they did.

Speaking in an interview with fellow actress Emelia Brobbey, Mr. Beautiful stated that people can either be good or evil depending on the situations they find themselves in. He explained that a person’s true character is often revealed by circumstances and experiences in life.

“Emelia, people are dangerous. People are good, depending on the situation they find themselves in. That is when you can determine whether people are good or bad.”

The veteran actor further stated that he does not believe in the popular phrase “forgive and forget.” According to him, the saying is misleading and has led many people astray. He explained that he keeps records of people who offend him. While he may choose to forgive at times, it does not mean he forgets what happened. He added that anyone who completely forgets the wrong done to them is being “senseless.”

“As I’m sitting here, I don’t forgive easily. It would be a big mistake for me to forgive and forget. There is a phrase that says ‘forgive and forget.’ I don’t know whoever coined it, but it is senseless to tell me to forgive and forget. I can forgive, but I cannot forget. Anyone who is offended by someone and completely forgets about it is senseless. You can forgive, but don’t forget. It is a mistake to forgive and forget. I have records of anyone who has offended me in one way or another.”

Concluding his remarks, Mr. Beautiful explained that he keeps such memories as lessons for future decision-making and to avoid repeating mistakes that could cost him even more in life. According to him, anyone who fails to learn from life experiences risks constantly living with regret.

“I cherish those records so much because they help me make decisions. Emelia, if you don’t learn the lessons of everyday life, you will surely visit the city of ‘had I known,’” he added.
