Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation Camidoh has spoken candidly about a viral video that circulated last year, showing him smoking an unidentified substance.
In a recent interview with Hitz FM on June 18, 2024, Camidoh revealed that he was grappling with personal struggles at the time, including a heartbreak that left him seeking solace in smoking to cope with the emotional pain.
Acknowledging the surprise and concern the video may have caused among his fans, Camidoh urged understanding and empathy, emphasizing that he was “going through real pain” during that period.
“I wouldn’t even lie. Like, I started going down that lane. It’s to clear your mind.
“It was very important for me to tell the full story. That maybe this kid you knew before was not on this lane.
“I went through certain things. So if you are disappointed, know that somebody was going through real pain. That’s what led to what you saw,” he said.
Camidoh’s statements come as he is on a promo tour for his new song ‘Nothing Lasts Forever,’ which narrates his ordeal of losing a loved one due to misunderstandings.
