Celebrated Jamaican dancehall musician, Anthony Moses Davis, well known as Beenie Man has opened up on his relationship with Stonebwoy and how he’s known the Ghanaian talent since he was a teenager.
According to Beenie Man, he has known Stonebwoy since he was just 17-years-old and always thought he was from his country, Jamaica due to how he sings but thought otherwise after he heard Stonebwoy speaking his native language, Ewe.
Speaking in an interview on an Accra radio station, Beenie Man disclosed that Stonebwoy had always shown his love for dancehall music and even speak the Jamaican language, so he thought Stonebwoy was a Jamaican trapped in Ghana until he spoke his local language.
He noted that Stonebwoy happens to be one of the few dancehall musicians who know everything about the genre and also almost all the originators of dancehall music, hence it was at that point he knew Stonebwoy could become a maestro in dancehall music.
Beenie Man also said that despite the fame and recognition Stonebwoy has gained over the years with his tremendous talent, he always humbles himself just as he did when he first bumped into him on the streets of Accra so many years ago.
