Member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency, Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, who is again seeking to be re-elected for the fourth time in the 2024 elections, has cleared the air on her support and endorsement for Alan Kyeremanteng.
The member of Parliament declared full support for Alan Kyeremanteng in the presidential elections of the New Patriotic Party until he resigned to form his own party, dubbed “Movement for Change.”.
According to her, she supported Alan Kyeremanteng because of the vision and policies he carried and the good intentions he had for Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show Thursday morning, she explained that she had given her full support to the former member and flagbearer hopeful Alan Kyeremanteng based on his vision and policies, but changed her mind after he resigned from the party.
“Yes, I once supported the candidature of Alan Kyeremanteng, but unfortunately, he and everyone in the party are entitled to support whoever he or she wants based on the policies and vision the person is carrying… So I think I fell for the policies of Alan Kyeremanteng,” she said.
She continued by saying that there was a release from her outfit after he resigned from the party to form his own, explaining that she can no longer support him again because he has decided to go his own way.
“We have had a democratic way of electing our flagbearers all these years, so for him to resign from the party, it means I can no longer support you,” he said.
Nevertheless, she added that she is committed to campaigning for Dr. Bawumia, who has been elected through a democratic process, breaking the eight.
