The president of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr Frank Serebuor has thrown his full support to doctors who intend to leave the country in search of better opportunities abroad.
It is increasingly becoming problematic as many health workers, especially doctors, in Ghana continue to leave the country in search of better working conditions in Canada, the UK and the US.
This is said to be raising questions on how Ghana’s health sector can be sustained as it loses most of its health professionals to due to poor working conditions and to search for better opportunities abroad.
Speaking to issues affecting the Ghana Medical Association in an interview with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show, he hinted at an increasing number of health workers who have left the country to seek greener pastures.
“I’d have joined them abroad to also look for better working opportunities if not my age,” he stated.
However, he opined that he would encourage anyone who wishes to leave the country in search of better opportunities abroad.
