“I spoke to her a day before she died” – Obaapa Christy mourns Vivian Jill’s sister
Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Christiana Love, widely known as Obaapa Christy, has shared an emotional account of her final conversation with Mabel Intuah, the late sister of actress Vivian Jill Lawrence, describing her as a selfless woman whose kindness touched countless lives.
Speaking during an interview, Obaapa Christy said Mabel was instrumental in her personal and professional journey, often introducing her to influential personalities and supporting her ministry whenever she needed help.
“She is someone who has helped me in so many ways. She helped introduce me to influential personalities. I even spoke with her around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, asking her to help me invite her group to my programme, and she said, ‘I will write a letter and include their names.’ I asked what name I should use, and she told me she was at the hospital but would call me back when she got home with all the details I needed.
“So I asked if everything was okay after she mentioned she was at the hospital. She replied that all was not well. I then told her that God is in control and that everything would be fine before we ended the call, thinking I would hear from her later that evening.
“I got home late, and it was the following morning that I heard the heartbreaking news that the person I had spoken to at 4 p.m. on Wednesday had passed away.
“When it is your time to help others, do so because this woman was a blessing to so many people. I am one of those people. She supported everything I was doing,” she recounted.
Mabel Intuah passed away just weeks after celebrating her 50th birthday in Accra, leaving her family, friends and loved ones in deep mourning. Since news of her death broke, several personalities in Ghana’s entertainment industry have paid glowing tributes, remembering her as a generous, compassionate and supportive woman who quietly impacted many lives.
