“I restrained Harry Kane spiritually during World Cup clash” – Kwaku Bonsam claims

Ghanaian traditional priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam, widely known for his controversial spiritual proclamations, has once again stirred global attention after making bold claims about England national team captain Harry Kane, suggesting he once performed spiritual work intended to limit the striker’s performance during Ghana’s game against England.

Speaking in a video, Nana Kwaku Bonsam asserted that he had previously placed a spiritual “hold” on the England player ahead of the World Cup, claiming responsibility for affecting his goal-scoring ability during that period.

“When we talk about spiritual work, I am the most powerful spiritualist in the world – Nana Kwaku Bonsam said – You see Harry Kane, I tied him. Now, I am going to loose him so that he can score in his next match. Harry Kane, I am loosing you. Don’t be offended with me, we are friends. I have released you. I have removed your picture and released you.”

As Ghana continues to develop its football rivalry with top international teams, such claims periodically resurface, adding an unusual off-pitch narrative to high-stakes global fixtures. Whether taken seriously or dismissed, Kwaku Bonsam’s declaration once again places him at the center of a controversial conversation blending faith, folklore, and football.
