Ghanaian rapper, Ruth Eno Adjoa Amankwah, popularly known as Eno Barony, has disclosed that she had to promise her parents with a Bible, that she is no longer into music.
In an interview on Agenkwa FM, the “Soja Go Soja Come” hitmaker disclosed that her father waws not in support of her decision to pursue music.
According to Eno, she had to lie to her parents about her career, despite being in the limelight.
“When I began music, I hid it from my father, even when he got to know, I lied to him. When I was attending Kumasi Polytechnic, I had to promise the whole family with a Bible that I wouldn’t do rap anymore,” she said.
She, however, noted that she went contrary to her promise.
“Funny enough, immediately I got to Kumasi Polytechnic, that was when I joined KFM freestyle,” she added.
She added that even though she was in the spotlight, she didn’t believe in the craft.
According to her, she had to seek validation from fans and colleagues.
“Music was just a passion, I didn’t see myself becoming a top female rapper. It was people who used to tell me that was good but frankly speaking, I didn’t see myself in that way. I used to look down on myself because I was timid,” she said.
