“I don’t need you” – Stonebwoy ends Sarkodie exchange
Ghanaian dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has seemingly drawn the curtains on his public exchange with rapper Michael Owusu Addo, known as Sarkodie, insisting that he has no need for a personal relationship with the rapper.
In what he described as his final response to the controversy, Stonebwoy took to X with a lengthy post addressing several issues raised by Sarkodie, including their past misunderstandings and the people associated with the BHIM Nation president.
“I don’t need to fuck with you. I’m straight, ‘pun intended,’” Stonebwoy wrote.
He also challenged Sarkodie to identify the individuals he believes have disrespected him while maintaining close ties with Stonebwoy.
“Sarkodie, feel free to kindly mention the names of the people who have disrespected you that I hang with,” he stated.
Stonebwoy further questioned Sarkodie’s assertion that he had repeatedly been the one making efforts to settle disagreements between them.
“What could you possibly owe me? When you’re the one who calls me, as you have clearly indicated… (No man is an island; we all need each other, though),” he wrote.
According to Stonebwoy, he would have expected an apology first if the circumstances between them had been reversed. He nevertheless stressed that working together professionally has never been a problem for him.
“Doing shows together has never been a problem, irrespective of who called. My last BHIMFEST at the stadium, Angel called Chief that y’all wanted to come through. I didn’t disagree,” he explained.
The musician also maintained that he has publicly acknowledged Sarkodie’s accomplishments on several occasions and accused the rapper of presenting his comments in a way that does not reflect the available video evidence.
Stonebwoy ended his response by calling for accountability while making it clear that he was no longer interested in prolonging the dispute on social media.
He said he was turning his attention away from the online back-and-forth to “real life issues”, signing off with the hashtag #GhanaMusicMatters.
The latest post follows Sarkodie’s own response to allegations and claims made by Stonebwoy, extending a feud that has now produced competing accounts of their friendship, past collaborations and dealings between their respective teams.
