Former chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has denied knowing the ‘galamsey’ queen, Aisha Huang.
The former National Chairman of NPP is defending four accomplices of ‘galamsey’ queen Aisha Huang, who are being held by the state for their involvement in illegal mining.
Critics say the move by the NPP stalwart defeats the government’s effort in fighting the menace, which has left many water bodies and forest reserves destroyed.
Speaking with Kwesi Parker-Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Freddie Blay indicated that he is not in court as a person to defend the suspects; he claimed he doesn’t know Ashia Huang,
“I am not representing Aisha in court. It’s my law firm that is defending three Chinese and one Vietnamese who are before the court. I don’t know Aisha Huang. I have never met Aisha Huang before. ” He stated
