Veteran Ghanaian actor Alexander Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, has disclosed that he was unaware a movie he had been invited to feature in was produced by fellow actor Kwadwo Nkansah, known in showbiz as LilWin, until he arrived on set.

Agya Koo said he was approached by the film’s director rather than LilWin, leaving him unaware of the project’s ownership. He explained that LilWin could have contacted him directly, whether or not he was available to participate.

“Honestly, if Kwadwo had called me and I had time, I would have come. If I was busy too, I would have let him know. It was the director who called me, and I didn’t know it was Kwadwo’s project until I got on set,” he said.

The veteran actor said he later questioned Kwadwo Nkansah (LilWin) about why he had not personally informed him, arguing that colleagues in the creative industry should maintain a spirit of mutual support.

“I even asked him why he didn’t let me know that the project was his because we’re here to help each other,” Agya Koo stated.

Despite the circumstances surrounding his involvement, Agya Koo said he approached the production professionally and gave it his full commitment. He urged his fellow actors to take every project seriously and deliver performances that would keep audiences interested in Ghanaian movies.

“With this kind of movie, you had to really prepare your mind and put in your best so that those who will watch will be entertained and demand more,” he noted.

Agya Koo also called on the public to support the movie upon its release, stressing that significant resources had been invested in the production. He expressed hope that audience support would encourage filmmakers to produce more quality local content.

“Ghanaians should support this when it comes out. We put in a lot of effort and resources, so kindly support us so that we can do more,” he added.

The revelation has drawn attention to the working relationships among Ghana’s movie stars, particularly the importance of communication and collaboration within the industry.
