Legendary Highlife musician, Ofori Amponsah has debunked claims that he killed Kofi B.
Reminisce that, on February 2, 2020, lovers of Highlife music were left heartbroken when it was announced that, musician Kofi B born Kofi Boakye Yiadom had died.
Fast forward, some individuals alleged that Kofi B was killed by Ofori Ampnsah who is reported to have cursed him.
Two years after the demise of his friend, Ofori Amponsah revealed that Kofi B was killed by a heart problem.
“Kofi B had heart problems way back. He had an issue with blood pressure. It was by the grace of God that he lived up to the age he finally died. People are just not telling the truth; this is the story, we all knew that my brother was suffering from this”. Ofori Amponsah told TV XYZ in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com
When asked if indeed he killed his brother Kofi B, Ofori Amponsah categorically said “Never”, adding that, he also heard someone making a similar accusation in an interview but resented to respond.
“If there is anyone I have helped in the industry, then it must be Kofi B”.
He revealed that, he brought in Kofi to live with him where Daddy Lumba had given him to live and went ahead to help him record his first album when Ofori Amponsah had not.
“When I had not released an album, I was looking for sponsorship for Kofi B. People even laughed at me when they hear this. All the hit songs of Kofi B are mine. Counting from “Yaw Dompre”, “Mobro Wa”, Koforidua Flowers” among others.
“I would have been a better me if Daddy Lumba gave me the opportunity I offered Kofi B. but I wish we could be brothers once more”, Ofori Amposah sorrowfully recounted.
