Ghanaian actor Yaw Dabo has put a staggering GH¢2 million price tag on his iPhone 17 Pro Max, arguing that its history with some of football’s biggest stars has transformed it into a valuable piece of memorabilia.

The Kumawood actor, whose full name is Samuel Yaw Dabo, disclosed in an interview that several renowned footballers, including former England defender John Terry, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham, Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice and Reece James, used the device to capture photographs with him during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Yaw Dabo believes those encounters have given the phone sentimental and collector’s value far beyond its original retail price.

“I am auctioning my iPhone 17 Pro Max for GH¢2 million because it has been held by John Terry, Jude Bellingham, Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice, Reece James and several other footballers,” he said.

The actor is now appealing to wealthy Ghanaians and football enthusiasts to consider acquiring the unusual memorabilia. Among those he mentioned were businessman Fada Dickson, entrepreneur Ibrahim Mahama, business magnate Osei Kwame Despite, Twum Barimah and Richard Nii Armah Quaye.

Yaw Dabo said proceeds from the proposed sale would be channelled into supporting his football academy, reflecting his long-standing interest in developing young football talent.

He added that the bidding would not be restricted to Ghana, with interested buyers from other countries also expected to have the opportunity to participate.

The proposed GH¢2 million valuation is likely to generate debate among football fans and collectors over whether the personal history attached to an everyday device can justify such a premium.
