Husband demands GH₵30,000 compensation from wife for sleeping with her brother

A man has accused his legally wedded wife of allegedly having an intimate relationship with her brother multiple times during their marriage. As a result, he is demanding a compensation of GH₵30,000 and a DNA test for the second child he has with her.

A married man identified as Kwabena Nketia, originally from Offinso but residing at Kronum after returning from South Africa, appeared on Oyerepa Afutuo hosted by Auntie Naa on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. He accused his wife, Rose Frimpong, of having an inappropriate relationship with her own brother.

According to Kwabena, on December 24, 2024, he began communicating with Rose, who already had a child at the time, and their relationship eventually led to marriage.

Kwabena alleged that Rose’s parents convinced him to leave his church and join his wife’s church, which he agreed to do. He also claimed that he supported her financially and assisted with household responsibilities, including washing clothes, cooking, sweeping, and giving her part of the rent money paid by tenants in his house.

He stated: “I sweep, wash our clothes, and cook for us while she works. People even ask me if I have a wife, but I tell them men can also help in the house.”

Kwabena further revealed that his wife frequently asked him to drop her off at her brother’s place. According to him, he later discovered that she was allegedly visiting the brother to engage in intimate relations with him. He claimed they mostly met in hotels and guest houses.

“After the marriage, she often visited her brother. Sometimes, she asked me to take her to his house, not knowing she was being intimate with him in hotels and guest houses,” he said.

When the host, Auntie Naa, asked how he became aware of the alleged affair, Kwabena explained that he first heard about it from a friend of the wife’s brother. According to him, the friend claimed their child was not his biological child and that the responsibility had been placed on him because he was financially capable of taking care of the child.

Kwabena further claimed that he later pressured his wife to tell the truth by using an egg as part of a traditional curse ritual, after which she allegedly confessed out of fear.

“I used an egg to trick and curse her into telling the truth. Out of fear, she then revealed that she had been doing that with her brother. She takes money from me and also from the brother,” he alleged.

According to him, he and his wife still live together in the same house and continue carrying out their marital responsibilities. However, he is demanding GH₵30,000 in compensation and a DNA test for the child they have together, as well as DNA tests for his four other children outside the marriage.

The wife, Rose, reportedly admitted to being intimate with her brother — who she described as her aunt’s son — once initially. However, she claimed that out of fear of being exposed or blackmailed by him, she continued the relationship. She also disclosed that the man happened to be her former boyfriend. However, according to her, she currently does not know his whereabouts.

The matter has reportedly been brought before family members, but for the past year, nothing has been done about it.
