Even at churches, where one of his songs was used as a sermon, highlife musician Kofi Kinaata has once more become the topic of conversation.
Kinaata’s “Susuka,” which according to Apostle Okoh Agyemang of the Living Yahweh 7th Day Sabbath Assemblies, leans more to gospel than highlife, was examined at one of his well-known contentious church gatherings.
Apostle Agyemang schooled his church, the importance of upholding moral principles and turning to God for everything while analyzing the music.
For his congregants who struggle with living within their means, the founder and leader dedicated the lyrics of ‘Susuka’ to them, which admonishes all to be content as others are going through worse.
After the mildly amusing sermon, he asked for another Kinaata song, “Things Fall Apart,” and warned his congregation about the negative effects of dressing as a sheep.
The sermon’s excerpts got a lot of attention to the point where Kinaata recognized Apostle with a special shout-out.
