Musician Kwabena Kwabena has reaffirmed the late Daddy Lumba’s stance on the enduring legacy of highlife music.
Speaking after his performance at the candlelight vigil held in honour of the legendary artist, Kwabena Kwabena echoed Lumba’s iconic statement from the 2003 Ghana Music Awards, declaring that “highlife will never die.”
He emphasised that highlife is a genre deeply rooted in Ghanaian identity — created by Ghanaians, for Ghanaians, and reflective of their culture and spirit.
“He is a legend forever. Just as Daddy Lumba said, highlife will never die. Rest in Peace, Legend,” he said.
