An Accra High Court has ordered Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa or Evangelist Mama Pat, to pay GH¢50,000 in compensation to Pastor Emmanuel Appiah Fumum for the non-consensual distribution of his nude images.
In addition, the court directed Agradaa to pay GH¢12,000 each on four separate charges, with the sentences ordered to run concurrently.
The fines and compensation followed a plea-bargaining agreement reached between Agradaa’s legal team, the Office of the Attorney-General, and the complainant, Pastor Appiah Fumum, also known as Appiah Biblical. At an earlier hearing, her lawyers had informed the court that discussions on plea bargaining were at an advanced stage.
The case stems from a complaint lodged with the police by Pastor Fumum, who alleged that his nude images were aired on Agradaa’s Thunder TV and widely circulated on social media platforms without his consent.
Agradaa, founder of the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, together with her co-accused, Charles Omane, also known as One Gig, applied for plea bargaining and were expected to open their defence. However, another accused person, Enock Owusu Kissi, challenged the court’s directive requiring him to open his defence and has since appealed the ruling.
Other accused persons in the case are also exploring plea-bargaining options, while one has filed an appeal following a ruling on a submission of no case.
Agradaa, who is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence in a separate matter, was charged with the non-consensual distribution and possession of intimate images. Her co-accused persons were charged with abetment in relation to the broadcast and circulation of the complainant’s intimate images on Thunder TV in 2021.
