The government of Nana Addo will go down in history as the government that made the biggest investment in HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT in the ASHANTI REGION since independence. Presently, there are 36 health infrastructure ongoing in the region.
While some of these projects were inherited from as far as the Acheampong regime of the 1970s and Kufour’s administration in the 2000s, the Nana Addo government has initiated 19 new health projects in addition to ensuring the completion of all inherited health projects in the region.
These 36 projects are exclusive of the innovative and collaborative effort between the Ashanti King and the government through the Chief Executive Office of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to renovate some parts of KATH.
This is unprecedented especially when the recent past NDC government cannot boost of a single hospital it initiated, completed and commissioned for use in the Ashanti Region from 2009 to 2016. Not a single inherited health project from the Kufour NPP regime was completed in the region. Out of the 36, only 2 (Fomena and Kumawu district hospitals) were initiated by the NDC from 2009 to 2016 but left them at completion rates 37 and 42 percent respectively. The Fomena district hospital is currently completed and the Kumawu district hospital is near completion.

With a critical voter population and the increasing cosmopolitan nature of the region, health infrastructure plays a key role in accounting for the successes and failures of any government. Per the facts as presented, NDC pales in Ashanti Region when health infrastructure is mentioned.
Kudos to the NPP for this massive investment in the Ashanti Region. Like Oliver Twist, we ask for more.
End!
Note: Thanks to Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare for providing useful information on these projects. Thanks to the Ashanti Army Crew for the excellent support you provided in visiting and verifying all these projects in pictures and videos in the past weeks.
