The Headmistress of Achog-Yeri Primary School in the Builsa North Municipality, Madam Comfort Alafiisa, has appealed to the government, NGOs, and philanthropists for assistance in providing toilet and urinal facilities for the school.
She emphasized the critical need for such facilities to facilitate effective teaching and learning and enhance hygiene practices in the school.
Madam Comfort Alafiisa noted that the lack of decent toilet and urinal facilities and unhygienic conditions in the school make some of the pupils miss lessons, which is very unfortunate.
She therefore called on the government, philanthropists, and other agencies to come to their aid by providing them with toilet and urinal facilities and help connect the school to the National grid.
The school has been wired but does not have electricity. “So we are appealing to the Assembly, NGOs, and the general public to come to our aid,” she said.
She also emphasized the need for the school to have a Junior High School (JHS) attached to the primary school.
