A road crash at Eduadjei on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway has left 11 people injured.
According to the Central Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when an Opel Astra with registration number WR 4860-13, travelling from Cape Coast towards Komenda, collided head-on with a Nissan minibus (CR 1414-23) heading from Takoradi to Cape Coast.
Ten passengers aboard the Nissan minibus — eight males and two females — were rescued by passersby and rushed to the Elmina Polyclinic for medical treatment.
Fire officers who arrived at the scene carefully extricated the driver of the Opel Astra, who was trapped in the wreckage after the impact. He was subsequently transported to the Elmina Polyclinic by personnel from the National Ambulance Service.
Emergency responders later cleared debris from the highway to restore the free flow of traffic and ensure safety at the scene.
Authorities say the cause of the crash has not yet been established and remains under investigation.
