The Head of Civil Service, Dr Evans Aggrey Darkoh, has called on civil service workers to collaborate to promote good governance and sustainable development, ultimately making Ghana a leading nation in the sub-region.
Dr. Darkoh emphasized that the peace, security, stability, and good governance currently enjoyed in Ghana are a result of the collective efforts of all civil service staff and public servants.
He highlighted the crucial role of the Civil Service in all aspects of national governance and public administration, providing essential policy advice to the government.
Despite the significant contributions of the Civil Service, Dr Darkoh noted that its role often goes unrecognized due to a lack of public awareness about its functions and impact on national development.
Dr. Aggrey Darkoh made these remarks during the press launch for the upcoming 2024 Civil Service Week and 2023 Awards Ceremony, which will focus on the theme “Combating Threats to Sub-Regional Peace and Security: Perspective of the Civil Service” in Accra.
The event will honor 120 Civil servants for their dedication and hard work, by section 89 of the Civil Service law, to recognize and celebrate their contributions to the nation.
