A young woman, Abena Owusua, has shared an emotional story of alleged abandonment and betrayal by her husband during an appearance on the Oyerepa Afutuo show hosted by Auntie Naa.

Speaking on the programme, Maame recounted how her relationship with Daniel Kwasi Dai began when she was just 17 years old and in Junior High School.

“I was 17 years old and in JHS One when I met Daniel Kwasi Dai, a primary school teacher at Antwi Agyei. He proposed to me and I accepted, so we started dating. Later, he promised to marry me,” she said.

According to her, their relationship progressed quickly. Daniel later left his teaching job, and they relocated to Kenyasi in the Ahafo Region, where he worked with a mining company. She said they got married when she entered Senior High School and soon became pregnant, after which he rented a room for her at Hwediem.

However, the marriage reportedly took a troubling turn.

“One night, I went to see him, but he drove me away and told me he didn’t need me anymore. From then on, he didn’t want me to come near him,” she revealed.

Owusua said she later discovered during the 2024 general elections that her husband had moved to Sunyani to live with another woman.

“When I visited his residence, the landlord told me my husband had relocated to Sunyani with another woman. I later called him, and he admitted he was living with another woman and that they even had a child together,” she said.

The situation worsened when friends and acquaintances began calling her about photos circulating online.

“One day, I received several calls from people asking if my husband had divorced me. They said they had seen pictures of his new wedding. When they sent me the photos, I was shocked,” she added.

Seeking guidance, Owusua said she consulted the pastor, who blessed their marriage and was advised to report the matter to her family. The two families later intervened to resolve the issue, and Daniel was reportedly made to pay her GH¢5,000 as compensation to continue the marriage.

But Owusua claims he has since failed to honour that commitment.

“Since then, he has never called me or supported me. For the past four years, he has not even slept with me. He now says he can’t marry me anymore,” Owusua lamented.
