Unknown assailants have carried out a brazen attack on the Offinso Traditional Council, causing chaos during a meeting at the Council Chambers.
The incident, which was confirmed by Offinso Manhene Kyeame, Okyeame Kwaku Wiafe occurred today, October 30 2024, around 12:30 PM.
The Offinso Traditional Council was discussing the funeral arrangements for the late Offinsohene, Nana Wiafe Akenten II when the perpetrators entered the chambers and demanded that the chiefs and elders cease their meeting.
“We were deliberating on the funeral arrangement of late Offinsohene, Nana Wiafe Akenten II when 4 unknown men on motorbikes with nose masks ambushed us with guns and pepper sprays. They told us to stop the meeting.” Okyeame Wiafe said.
According to him, the Offinso police were called upon to intervene.
“So we called the police for intervention. But when hoodlums saw that the boys in the community and the police were approaching the scene, they set one parked vehicle on fire and fled.”
Okyeame Wiafe disclosed that no one was hurt however, the thugs burnt one vehicle.
“No one was hurt. The Offinso police have not made any arrest as we speak.” Okyeame Kwaku Wiafe told Oyerepa News in an interview.
