The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited,, Naa Amerley Bamba, says her outfit is focused on developing businesses that will drive Ghana’s economic transformation.

Speaking at the “SME CONNECT” capacity-building event organized by GTFCL in partnership with Republic Bank Ghana PLC, Mrs. Bamba stated that the company’s mandate goes beyond hosting exhibitions.

As a trade promotion agency under the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, she explained that GTFCL is tasked with promoting trade and supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, SMEs, to strengthen the country’s financial sector.

“GTFCL’s responsibility extends beyond organizing exhibitions for businesses. It is about helping SMEs to grow, scale, and compete,” she said.

The “SME CONNECT” initiative, she noted, is a key government program designed to bring together industry experts, financial institutions, and strategic partners to equip businesses with practical knowledge and tools for growth.

The CEO added that under the John Mahama-led administration, GTFCL will play a critical role in building a stronger, more competitive, and export-led SME sector in Ghana.
