“Growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness changed my life” – Kojo Blak

Ghanaian musician Kojo Blak has disclosed that his years as a Jehovah’s Witness played a major role in shaping his confidence and communication skills, saying regular house-to-house preaching helped him overcome shyness at an early age.

Speaking in a recent interview, the singer said his childhood remains one of the most memorable periods of his life because of his active involvement in Christian ministry. He explained that he found joy in preaching, field service and other spiritual activities while growing up.

“Growing up, it was one of the best moments for me because I’m somebody who is very in tune with godly things like preaching, field service and all those kinds of stuff,” he said.

Kojo Blak revealed that his passion for serving God continued after he became a member of Christ Embassy, where he joined the church choir to remain actively involved in ministry.

The musician explained that his experience as a Jehovah’s Witness taught him to confidently approach strangers, start conversations and share biblical teachings without fear, an experience he believes transformed his personality.

Asked whether he had abandoned evangelism after pursuing a music career, Kojo Blak insisted that his mission has not changed, explaining that he now uses his music as a platform to spread positive and inspirational messages.

“It’s not a switch-up. I am still doing evangelism,” he said.

Kojo Blak added that he believes his upbringing as a Jehovah’s Witness was part of God’s plan, noting that the lessons and values he gained continue to influence both his personal life and his career. He said the confidence he developed through ministry remains one of the greatest gifts from that chapter of his life.
