Hajia Marria Fuseini, the Deputy Director of Nursing Services at Sandema Hospital and Chairperson of the elections, commended both contestants and delegates for conducting smooth and clean elections. She urged the new executives to collaborate with their predecessors and opponents to address the needs and aspirations of nurses in the municipality.
Hajia Fuseini also emphasized the importance of annual PIN renewals and encouraged nurses to educate the public on the different roles within health facilities to prevent the misattribution of blame to nurses.
Mr. Bisianin Kombian, the Regional Vice Chairperson of the association, advised the new leaders to work diligently to prevent nurses from leaving for other associations that offer superficial benefits.
He reassured that the GRNMA leadership is committed to ensuring fair compensation for nurses and asked members to disregard unverified information circulating on social media regarding new conditions of service.
Mr. Ali Joshua, who lost the chairmanship to Mr. Nii Ashley Ashitey, pledged his support for the new leadership on behalf of all the candidates who did not win.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Ashitey expressed gratitude to the nurses for their trust and promised to work inclusively to meet the aspirations of all nurses in the municipality.
The new executive team is expected to work closely with all stakeholders to enhance the welfare and professional standards of nurses and midwives in the Builsa North Municipality.
