The District Manager of Forestry Commission Nkawie Division, Mr Nifaasoyir Chrisantus has urged Ghanaians, especially the residents of Atwima Nwabiagya South to invest in planting trees to help sustain the environment.
In line with the Green Ghana initiative, the Nkawie Division incorporated with four Municipal/District of the Ashanti Region, Atwima Mponua, Atwima Kwanwoma, Atwima Nwabiagya South, Atwima Nwabiagya North to plant 550,000 trees in various sites and location covering Educational institutions, palaces, homes, communities, Churches, streets boundaries areas, forest and other places.
According to Nifaasoyir Chrisantus, the second edition of the mega Green Ghana project would focus on forests as far as his territories are concerned.
He added that the first edition was successful though some trees died.
He pleaded with the general public to get involved in the Green Ghana project.
The Green Ghana project is slated on Friday, 10th June 2022
The exercise will take off at all the 275 Constituencies in Ghana.
