The Managing Director of the State Housing Company, Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, has revealed that his outfit would be building 16 housing units in every district under the District Housing Scheme project.
According to him, workers who are posted to the various government sectors will benefit from the project, and it would operate on a rental basis.
Speaking in an interview with Akua Asiedua on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Mr. Appiah stated that the project is an initiative by the President, Nana Akuffo-Addo.
“The President has directed us (the State Housing Company) to build 16 housing units in 16 district under the District Housing Scheme project for government workers, which will be on a rental basis. We will start with 16 deprived districts. Workers posted there would get access to decent homes. This project will include schools and hospitals.”
Mr. Appiah is optimistic that all abandoned affordable housing projects as a part of the government’s state housing projects will be completed.
