Professor Solomon Nunoo, President of the University Teacher’s Association of Ghana (UTAG), has said that the government should engage the association members to help them solve the debt restructuring problem.
Speaking to Akua Asieduwaa on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, the association president revealed also that “government have had no meetings with organized labor union to share ideas on alternative ways to restructure debt”.
He stated that his association’s members are concerned that the government’s debt restructuring programs will have an impact on their pension funds.
Prof. Nunoo said UTAG expects the government to not touch the pension funds in the debt restructuring and to also engage them in finding lasting solutions on how the debt problems of the nation can be solved without having to touch the pension funds.
